I have the opportunity to talk with many foreigners.
Japan is expected to have Samurai, Bushido, Zen, courtesy and a lot of power etc... from Japanese Martial Art (e.g. Karate, Judo, Aikido).
I worked at Sweden company. My boss was French. A long time ago, he studied at a Japanese university. It was to learn Karate. However, "Many university students were just playing and were surprised." he said. It is said that it was different from the image of martial arts and karate, which had high formality. Rather, foreigners may feel that karate is more beautiful than Japanese.
I want to say as one of the karate families with a commitment.
We are practicing Karate 10 years, 20 years, 30 years and more. Sometimes we practice hard, sometimes we want to quit, and we do more training. We are human. However, I think that it is not the same out of Japan. Many Karate Masters have not thought the business for these activities, which practice and teach Karate. It is a way to find yourself. Also, I am the same thing. I have business as Computer science. And I want to teach Karate to interesting people and children. Also, I teach karate and I can learn something from students. This is not business.
If you're the ideal karate house, Master lives in Japan(10-20 years more), learn about Japanese culture and history, and see Japan and the world. Strength is about communicating with people and making them smile without fighting.
I hope that there will be more opportunities to convey Japanese karate, culture, and ideas.
Best Regards,
