Modern Otome-ryū 現代の

The private discipline
of Japanese budo,
for those who carry weight.

Yoshinkan Honke is a modern Otome-ryū ― a private and discreet Japanese budo program for adults who carry responsibility in business, family, and society. From the lineage that tested Shotokan karate in the ring, we cultivate discipline, judgment, and the inner foundation of those entrusted with legacy.

From Gichin Funakoshi (Dainippon Karatedo Kenyukai, 1930) to all derivative schools. Yoshin-kan stands at the bottom-right, the orange real-combat lineage ― the modern inheritor of fullcontact Shotokan karate.

"We do not teach martial arts merely as a sport.
We teach budo as a discipline for those who must carry responsibility."

— Yoshinkan Honke / The Path of Otome-ryū
— Three Pillars

Discipline. Judgment. Legacy.

Our program rests on three pillars that distinguish it from sport karate, fitness training, or technique collection. These are what make Otome-ryū a practice for principals, not participants.

— i.
Private & Discreet

All training is conducted privately or in small groups, by appointment, with full confidentiality. Sessions take place at our honbu (headquarters) or, by arrangement, at locations of your choice ― including residences, family offices, and international engagements.

— ii.
Tailored to You

There is no fixed curriculum. Each program is designed in dialogue with the student, considering position, purpose, body, time, and the responsibilities you carry. What is transmitted, in what order, to what depth ― these are decided together with the master.

— iii.
For the Next Generation

The Family Legacy Program serves founder families, owner families, and family offices ― training that combines Japanese budo discipline with succession, responsibility, and the inner preparation of those who will carry the family forward.

— Frequently Asked

Questions before you knock.

Q1Is Yoshinkan Honke open to anyone?
No. Yoshinkan Honke (Otome-ryū) is not a public dojo. Training is private and arranged by invitation or introduction, primarily for executives, professionals, family-office principals and successors, and others who carry social responsibility. Bearing, intent, character, responsibility and trust are all considered before instruction is offered.
Q2What does “Otome-ryū” mean?
Otome-ryū refers to a school transmitted only within a domain, to a limited few. Yoshinkan Honke carries that traditional idea into the present as a deliberately selective practice, codifying the combative mainstream that ran from Shotokan Okano-ha through Jigenkai (Sagami Gym) and Nozaki Kaikan as Yoshinkan-ryū Jūjutsu Karate Kenpō.
Q3What is actually taught?
Shotokan karate forms the axis, unified with aiki and classical jūjutsu into Yoshinkan-ryū Jūjutsu Karate Kenpō. The aim is not competition results or tournament entry, but self-cultivation — courtesy, composure under pressure, and the bearing of a martial practitioner.
Q4Where is training held, and in what language?
Training is arranged in Tokyo, Japan. Instruction is normally in Japanese, and English is available for enquiries and guidance from overseas. Arabic enquiries are welcome; guidance is given in English or Japanese.
Q5What happens after I make an enquiry?
Please use the enquiry form and include the nature of your enquiry, your profession or position, and your reason for wishing to train. Yoshinkan Honke will read it and reply directly. Given the nature of Otome-ryū, not every enquiry can be accepted.
